Mailcow: Changes to Email Alias Forwarding

To improve email deliverability, we will restrict email aliases from forwarding messages to external domains.

Why this change?

Forwarding emails to external providers can cause authentication issues (particularly SPF), resulting in messages being rejected or classified as spam.

What does this mean?

  • Existing aliases will continue to work as usual, unless modified.
  • Forwarding to locally hosted domains remains unaffected.
  • Creating or modifying aliases to forward to external domains will be restricted.
  • External forwarding will remain possible through an alternative method.

For instructions, please see our forwarding guide.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Managed Server Version 5: Update CI Configuration

With this change we hope to circumvent some issues we have from time to time while deploying new module versions for different generations concurrently.

Managed Server Version 5: New Monitoring Check: Microsoft Smart Network Data Services

Microsoft Smart Network Data Services is a Microsoft service that informs us if an IP address is blacklisted from hotmail.com/outlook.com. This check monitors and informs us regularly. In this way, we ensure that your e-mails arrive hotmail customers without problems.

New Cockpit Version: Billing features
  • Update Meteor and npm packages
  • add some fixes and features to billing
  • fix bug while deleting a website
Managed Server Version 5: Monitoring: Modify diskspace calculation

This change will modify our internal diskspace calculation to cover some edge cases we encountered.

Managed Server Version 5: Enhance Lets Encrypt Debugging

From time to time, you will encounter problems while changing website configurations with enabled Let's Encrypt certificated. Most of the time, this is related to a failed validation request, for example because a certain server name does not point to our host already.

By now, it was pretty hard to reach the debugging output of our Let's Encrypt client, and it was not possible at all to enforce a run from a shell account. With this change, we add the letsencrypt-renew shortcut which will allow you to enforce renewal and immediately see the output should a problem arise.

For details, please see the corresponding new part in our documentation.
