Scheduled Maintenance
Migrate Mail-Relay

We will migrate our Mail-Relay to a new server.

  • This affects only a small fraction of managed-servers where that are explicitely configured to use this mail-relay for outbound mail
  • Since we migrate the IP address, there is no need for any configuration change on the managed-servers that send mail via this relay server
  • During the migration the system will be unavailable for a short period of approximately 5 to 10min

Stop maintenance window: 17/03/2026 01:00

Cluster Maintenance

We will update soft- and firmware throughout our cluster. During the update, a higher disk i/o latency is to be expected.

Stop maintenance window: 17/03/2026 02:00

Migration Recursive DNS Resolver Servers

We will migrate our recursive DNS resolver servers to a recent version on new servers.

The servers will keep their IP-Addresses and therefore no configuration change on systems relying on those name-servers for DNS lookups is needed.

We don't expect this change to cause any harm (due to having a redundant pair of nameservers), for the sake of safety we perform the switch-over during our maintenance-window.

This change only affects recursive DNS resolution. Our authoritative DNS servers (name servers) used for domains are not affected.

Managed Server Version 5: manually trigger server reboot through devop account, scheduled 6 years ago

It can make sense to reboot a server manually under some circumstances, for example if the load raises too high for further debugging. To enable you to issue such reboots by yourself, we allow the reboot alias command for the devop user as of now.
